Zhang Wei

Zhang Wei is a contemporary writer and vice chairman of the China Writers Association, born in Qixia City, Shandong Province. His first work was published in 1975. As of 2014, forty-eight volumes of Zhang Wei’s collected works have been published. His writing has been translated into dozens of languages, including English, Japanese, French, and German. He has authored twenty-one novels, including Ancient Ship, You Are on the Plateau and The Sole Pharmacist. He has won many national literary prizes, including the Mao Dun Literature Award.
