Zhang Ping, a contemporary writer, was born in Xi’an, Shanxi province. His works have been translated into English, French, Russian, Japanese, Portuguese, and other languages. He has also served as the Vice Chairman of the Shanxi Provincial Writers Association, Chairman of the Shanxi Provincial Film Festival Association, Chairman of the Shanxi Provincial Writers Association, Vice Chairman of the China Writers Association, and Vice Chairman of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles. Zhang has been the recipient of numerous awards and some of his works have been adapted into films and tv series which have also gone onto win awards.
