Teng Jimeng lives in Beijing, China. He teaches interpreting and translation at Beijing Foreign Studies University and film studies at Capital Normal University and University of International Business and Economics and now translates full-time from Chinese into English and vice versa. Since 1991, he has translated over 10 award-winning independent Chinese films and documentaries, dozens of scripts, song lyrics, and essays. He also publishes papers, give talks and lectures, and comments on literary events especially with the China Global Television (CGTN) and China Radio International (CRI). As well as this, he mentors new translators, teaches extra hours at adult schools, and judges national translation and speech competitions.
