Dylan Levi King is a freelance translator and writer. Since 2013 he has translated contemporary Chinese literature into English, with published translations including works by Jia Pingwa (The Shaanxi Opera, with Nicky Harman), Mai Jia (The Colonel and the Eunuch), Cai Chongda (Vessel) and Dong Xi (Record of Regret). His writing has appeared in The Guardian, The Spectator and The Baffler.
