Sylvia Li-chun Lin is a retired professor, award-winning writer and Chinese to English translator of numerous bestselling novels. As a former professor at the University of Notre Dame, she is the recipient of a translation grant from the National Endowment of the Arts.
As a team, Lin and Howard Goldblatt have translated more than a dozen novels and collections by writers from China and Taiwan, including Notes of a Desolate Man by Chu Tien-wen, chosen as 1999 Translation of the Year by the American Literary Translators Association, and Three Sisters by Bi Feiyu, which won the second annual Man Asia Literary Prize. They live, work and cycle in Lafayette, Colorado with their neurotic cat.
