Fang Fang

Fang Fang was born in Nanjing in 1955, and grew up in the city of Wuhan. She is the author of a number of novels including The Chronicle of Wuni Lake and Soft Burial. Fang Fang’s novels have won numerous literary awards in China, including the National Award for Excellence in Fiction, and the Lu Xun Literary Prize. She is currently a distinguished professor at the Huazhong University of Science and Technology and director of the Centre for Research in Contemporary Writings.
